After we are saved,
we should no longer continue to think in the world's paradigms about others or
ourselves. Often we stay stuck in our own flesh and lack, not living the
overcoming life, because we do not see ourselves through the eyes of Jesus or
through a Kingdom of God mentality.
There is no:
rich or
poor
cool or
uncool
unvalued
unwanted
rejected
unpopular
poor
nerd
worthless
unsuccessful
unlucky
clumsy
stupid
ugly
ungifted
mess-up
boring
fearful
unrespected
helpless
orphan (literal or
figurative)
desperate
failure
low class
unloved
unable
timid
The Lord has redeemed
us. We are beloved. No one can call us those names or think badly about us,
because they are now, a non-reality. There are no cool kids and non-cool kids in
God's eyes; it is only a made up, man made structure to try and give false
value, apart from the Lord. It doesn't exist.
We no longer have
anything to prove (to ourselves, or others or ghosts from our past), because we
have been approved by the ONE and ONLY Supreme approver. We can only give
that power away when we let ourselves be placed back in those imaginary
boxes and believe the lies of the enemy.
God has delivered us
from every rejection, from every short coming, from every lack. He has and will
equip us for every good work that He calls us to do. I will never be inadequate
apart from the Lord, again! Hallelujah!
And what of those
friends, family, or strangers that with a look or word trigger that old fleshly
thinking again? We can see that they are wrong. They need the Lord. They are
using worldly paradigms to attempt to gain worth themselves, instead of being
ministered to by the Lord. We don't have to get hurt, or mad or self-conscious,
or go back to that idea of the person we were before Jesus. We can pray for
them, speak the truth in love to them, walk on by with a smile and a nod and
know who we are in the Lord. And once WE are free, we also never have to put
other people in those boxes either. We know the truth about ourselves so we can
see value in each person, no matter how different they are from us or from the
“societal norm”. We can see them through Jesus' eyes...wanted, beloved,
fearfully and wonderfully made.... Our value no longer depends on devaluing or
impressing someone else. We are in God's Kingdom now!
It is not enough to
know it, we must repent of our harsh thoughts toward ourselves or others. We
have to see the damage we do, and the lies we tell. We have to cry out for His
thoughts about us, His truth, His sufficiency, His deliverance. Lord show us all
who we are in You and who you created us to be, let our thoughts, mouths and
lives reflect that truth. Amen.
